Michael Darby
Project Architect
As a Project Architect at Studio Luz, Michael strives to make architecture accessible and meaningful for all communities. His approach blends thoughtful design and technical precision with a deep commitment to social impact. At Studio Luz, Michael will focus on the construction aspect of design and construction administration for our educational, cultural and housing projects. He will continue to build upon the mission of our office, developing work that is responsive, inclusive, and rooted in the everyday lives of its users.
Prior to joining Studio Luz, Michael earned his Bachelor of Architecture from Virginia Tech and spent four years at Machado Silvetti. During that time, he worked on a wide range of projects, including U.S. embassies, museums, Boston Public Schools, and single and multifamily housing in Provincetown. Outside of the office, Michael can often be found sketching and photographing Boston and Provincetown, or connecting with friends and his communities through running.
